《新概念中国高等职业技术学院艺术设计规范教材：景观设计环境小品》主要针对高职类的环境艺术设计专业的教学而编写，它既是笔者对于环境小品设计的理解和感受的书面呈现，也是对课程教学思路的一次梳理。从最初设立构想、构建框架、收集资料，到最后的整理交稿，历时约为半年。书稿的编写中途，幸得去澳洲考察的机会，便在此期间内拍摄了数百张照片，记录下了大量的富有现代气息和个性特征的环境小品，书中的大部分照片均来自其中。案例部分的图片均取自于实际工程文本，它们或是正在建设中的休闲度假区，或是即将竣工的高品质住宅区。第一手材料具有超前性和时尚性，具备良好的参考价值和借鉴作用。
