It is difficult to say that anyone reads this audiobook. John Maclean speaks to us about his father, Norman, who is best known as the author of A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. The cassette also contains National Public Radio interviews with John and Norman. Perhaps most pleasurable to the fans of Norman Maclean will be his readings of his own work with the sound of the river in the background. Maclean does not possess a great voice, and the recordings are not of the highest quality; but hearing Maclean himself overcomes those defects. Listening to the sagacious Maclean with the sound of the water in the background may be worth the cost of the audiobook. M.L.C. (c) AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine
